30 Day Briefing!

Hey guys! So i'm back with another post! Although the title says 30 day briefing, i'm actually at 34 days til i ship out. It's crazy to think that one more month and i'll be in basic training getting yelled at by a TI an inch away from my face! It hasn't hit me yet but i am getting more excited everyday.

I had my last day at work on sunday June 16th. They bought me a going away cake with little army men on it. They tried to find something with planes but no luck. It's the thought that counts. As my last day came to a close, I started saying my goodbyes to my favorite people. I felt like the waterworks were about to start but i was able to hold it in. That is until the last 5 minutes, right before I walked out the door. A few tears fell but only a few people saw! Now I can really focus on working out for basic training. And i'm going to LIVE in the gym this next month til I leave!

Anyways, back to the title of this post! I went to see my recruiter for my 30 day briefing a few hours ago. It wasn't anything special. I weighed in and signed the same papers like before. This time I did receive my visitor access form, direct deposit form and a packing list. I need to start packing my bag for basic and for tech school ASAP. There's sooo much to do before I ship out. Doesn't seem like enough time. I am the Queen of procrastination but i will do my best! My 15 day briefing is on July 2nd. So i guess that's when my next post will be, unless something great happens and I can't wait to write it! Talk to you then!

75 Days Out!

It's been a little over a month since I posted in this blog buttt I don't have much to update you guys on. I still have a long way to go and I'm sure ill be posting more when i get closer to shipping out. Anyways, I had my 3rd DEP meeting on May 6th. I'm sad to say that my recruiter got orders to move to Georgia. So, it was her last day in the office. I still have her number and can contact her if I need anything but I'm sure she will be busy with moving her entire family. The thing I liked about my recruiter is that she was very helpful and never sugar coated anything. I always had tons of questions for her and she always had answers. Whenever I called she answered the phone and when I went to the office she was always there. I hear so many horror stories about how other people's recruiters are never available and are giving them the run around. I guess I was fortunate in that way.

Also, I finally let my manager at work know that my last day will be  June 16th! I will have so much more free time to hang out with my family and friends. I can't wait! Not to mention, I need to up my workout sessions to prepare for BMT. I get to the gym a few times a week now, but I'd like to go about 5 or 6 times a week. Yes I know, I have work to do! But, I know ill be ready by the time July comes around. Speaking of BMT, I have 75 days left! Woohoo! Time is flying! That's all I have to update you guys on for now though. Talk to you in few weeks!

Second DEP Meeting

Hey! Future Airman Frederick here. So, I had my second DEP meeting yesterday. I was surprised to see that I gained 3 pounds. Usually that would be a bad thing. But, in my case, a few pounds wouldn't hurt because I'm too close to the minimum weight. And the last thing I need is for the people at MEPs to say I can't ship out because I'm tiny. I can't help it my metabolism's fast! Okk..I'm rambling and venting. Anyways, a few weeks ago I met with a FBI agent to do an interview for the Air Force. I had no idea I needed to do one. So, I was a little nervous when she called but it went well.

On another note, I have 111 days left til I ship out. So many of the people that I've met in the last few weeks are about to leave for basic training. I'm so excited for them, you would think I'm jumping on that plane to San Antonio, Texas too. Just thinking about boot camp makes me really want to go to the gym! I'm have to stay motivated and in shape over the next 3 months and some weeks! And I'm going to do just that! Byee! -Runs off into the wild blue yonder- :)

And The Wait Begins...

I officially have 4 months until I ship out for Air Force basic training! Seems like forever and a day away but it will be here before I know it. My whole journey started and took off so quickly. From the time I first saw a recruiter and took the practice ASVAB, I swore in just 2 and a half weeks later! And now the wait really begins. There's so much I need to memorize before I leave but don't know where to start. I already know the Airman's Creed and the 3 core values..but the chain of command, rank & Air Force song? Not so much. But like I said, I have 120 days and that's more than enough time. Anything I can do to make my experience at basic a tad bit easier, I will gladly do in the comfort of my own home. Until then, I have nothing to do but work, workout, study and, most importantly, STAY QUALIFIED :)
